Como se sabe existem 88 constelações, oficialmente consideradas pela União Astronómica Internacional (IAU).

Mas claro que com um pouco de criatividade, outras mais se podem imaginar, mesmo que não sejam reconhecidas pela IAU.
Atente-se por exemplo no historial das constelações ocidentais, ou das constelações dos antigos Chineses.
